The Beatles, formerly known as the Quarrymen or the Silver Beatles, are a British musical quartet and a global symbol of the aspirations and ideals of the generation that came of age during the 1960s. They are also known by their nickname, Fab Four. John, Paul, George, and Ringo were just four ordinary Liverpool adolescents when they first met and formed what would later become the Beatles.

Never in their wildest dreams could John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr have imagined that they would go on to become one of the most successful bands of the 20th century, having an impact not only on the world of music, but also on the worlds of fashion, film, and global representation. It was difficult to imagine in the late 1950s and early 1960s that a band from the relatively impoverished port city of Liverpool, England, could get a gig in the thriving London music scene.

It was even more difficult to imagine that the band could eventually export their eventual home grown success to a world that was eagerly embracing the counterculture movement of the 1960s and the burgeoning phenomenon of rock 'n' roll. But that is exactly what happened with the band known as the Beatles.
